Blueprints For Mosin Nagant

Textures

Silicone on canvas with silver foil sublimation and

is rare that I get when I start mixing different techniques and get new and fascinating results: after the "game", I find myself a single yarn to knit and crochet a simple pattern and delicate ... would be a "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" of handmade:) Maybe one day achieve something aesthetic combine these two facets of mine, I sometimes have to bring bad, because I start in one corner and on the opposite end ... we'll see:)

The sample is made on a piece of pink synthetic fur, purchased (as always) in patchwork, which usually encounter budget cuts or failed. The design is done with stencil. Since I am not repeating patterns, and in this case the technique with silicone very dirty, did the design on cardboard (carton bag, the kind that keep being tough, and not to buy clothes as often:) I chose a

uncomplicated design, and then to support the fabric on plastic or contact (to avoid staining the table) applied the clear silicone (FASTIX or similar, not used to heat glue gun, but we use for glass) . For the application I use a credit card into disuse, as a spatula, and put the material exerting pressure for the silicone to penetrate the tissue.

After removing the stencil being careful not to stain the remaining piece of fabric, glitter and Gibran placed on the silicone. In this step can be added: bits of fabric, ribbon, yarn, including paper. Keep in mind that the silicone does not adhere on plastic, so if we decided to add accounts can not be plastic, because it would divest.

Another point to consider: the silicone shrinks a bit over time, so you have to cover small areas, except that Silicon whole cloth to cut small pieces when dry work (very nice are the "scales" or "tiles" worked with this fabric technique)

For this sample, sped up the drying (which usually takes 24 hours) using the iron. To do this you must cover the design above and below with silicone paper (I learned that homes sold in pastry shops in addition to screen printing supplies, and is relatively inexpensive, and can be reused).

After the silicone dried, apply a stamp sublimate, sublimation is a technique that can be done at home with home plate. We can get sheets with designs or make our own designs using sublimation inks. They are water-based inks, which are used as one tempera (the only drawback is its presentation in pots of 1 kg per color). Recommend to test the technique to acquire a design statement. When sublimed we note that these inks transferred only on synthetic fabrics (cotton on desvanacen with washes), and only on light materials, so if you want to achieve we must use white fabric and white base color the rest, because There is white paint (the same procedure would be to paint with watercolors: the light is leaving the white background). In this case, the dye sublimate also affix the silicon, being a synthetic material. Another detail: the ink is "combined" with the tone of the base fabric, for example, if Sublimo blue on yellow background, the picture is green. The results are almost always chaotic and amazing ...:)

To sublimate, placed against the fabric design, and spend the maximum temperature iron on paper, insisting until the color is transferred. The longer we heat, and set to be stronger design. The sheets can be used to sublimate 2 or 3 times. Do not forget to cover the surface of the ironing board or table with paper, because the color goes through layers of fabric, and may stain the base of support ... I know it sounds hard but is not real!

As the silver foil : textile adhesive is placed only on the target area, place a foil paper (for textile) with the shiny side up (very important), board to provide sufficient heat and make the foil stick, leaving cool (also important) and remove giving little jerks. There are many colors of foil, including gold, copper, purple, etc. Also acquires materials for screen printing shops where vendors are great advisors, so do not hesitate to consult. There are always new products on the market, so even the most expert in the field makes your queries!

important thing: Where I can use this technique ???:)

- stained garments, subdivision technique

- Clothing with holes (for a domestic accident:), silicone, and if desired, after sublimating

- Decoration, from lampshades, curtains, pillows, etc. It would be a

step in the customized:)

know that they will raise questions and inquiries, so do not hesitate to leave them in the comments!
